BRIDGING COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE SOUTH ADRIATIC

Project Bridging Communities Across the South Adriatic It is an initiative under the Interreg VI-A IPA South Adriatic Programme (Italy–Albania–Montenegro), aimed at strengthening and innovating comprehensive mental health care across the region. Building on the legacy of the Basaglia Reform (1978), the project addresses challenges such as unequal access to mental health services, limited community integration, and the stigma surrounding mental disorders. The project promotes modern community-based care models through cross-border collaboration among healthcare institutions, universities, cultural organizations, and civil society. By adopting innovative approaches such as nature-based therapy and arts-based activities, it seeks to enhance public awareness, social inclusion, and the long-term well-being of communities.
