The University of Medicine, Tirana (UMT) places special emphasis on professional development and supporting students and alumni in their journey toward a successful career in medicine and health sciences. To this end, the Career Offices at UMT offer a wide range of services and initiatives that bridge the academic and professional worlds, preparing students for the challenges of the job market and helping them develop their full potential.
Mission of the Career Offices It is to support every student and alumnus in developing professional skills, preparing them for the job market, and guiding them toward the best career opportunities. They serve as a bridge between teaching and professional practice, offering services including:
Personalized support where each student receives guidance to better understand their interests and skills, choose the most suitable professional field, and develop long-term goals and strategies to achieve them.
The offices are responsible for the regular organization of training sessions and workshops focused on developing skills required in the labor market, such as professional communication, time management, CV writing, and job interview preparation.
In cooperation with healthcare institutions, public and private organizations, as well as partner companies, Career Offices facilitate the connection of students and alumni with internship and employment opportunities. They also introduce students to the institutions and partners with which the university has cooperation agreements, contributing to the creation of a broad and sustainable network in the health sector.
Career Offices are active participants in job fairs, forums, meetings with professionals, and thematic seminars, providing students with concrete opportunities to build contacts and connect with field experts. Through these activities, students have the opportunity to generate and develop their professional network, which is essential for integration into the labor market.
The offices collect, process, and disseminate information on trends, demands, and opportunities in the healthcare labor market, helping students to adapt and develop their skills in line with current employers’ needs.
