The University of Medicine, Tirana held the solemn ceremony for the awarding of the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” to Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Novelli, one of the most renowned international figures in the field of human genetics and molecular medicine. His scientific and academic contributions have significantly advanced biomedical research and international cooperation in higher education. He has also held prominent academic and institutional positions, including serving as Rector of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
In his welcoming remarks, the Rector of the University of Medicine, Tirana, Prof. Dr. Xheladin Draçini, emphasized that this recognition represents not only the institution’s appreciation for an outstanding figure in contemporary science, but also the commitment of the University of Medicine, Tirana, to strengthening standards of academic excellence and expanding international cooperation in scientific research. Prof. Dr. Draçini presented Prof. Novelli with the medal and certificate of the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” as a sign of appreciation for his contribution to the advancement of medical science and the promotion of international academic collaboration.
