Nursing has existed in various forms in every culture and its practice has changed greatly over time. Nursing, in the sense it has today, dates back to the time of the Crimean War, when Florence Nightingale (1820 – 1910), laid the foundation for professional nursing.
In Albania, in 1910, nursing care was practiced individually by women educated abroad. On December 30, 1921, the first data on the development of nursing as a profession and as a service, with the corresponding education, training and formation, were described.
